Kitchen Extension in Holcot

Project Highlights:

1. Demolition and Site Preparation:

• The existing back porch was carefully and safely demolished.
• The site was cleared and prepared for the construction of the extension.

2. Lean-To Extension:

• A red brick and slate tile lean-to extension was built, extending the full width of the back of the house.
• A window and French doors were installed, creating a connection between the interior and the garden.
• A stable door was included, ensuring a casual entrance to the garden on sunny days. All windows and doors were double-glazed for energy efficiency and comfort.

3. Structural Modifications:

• A sturdy steel beam was expertly installed to provide structural support, and ready to open up two areas.
• The internal back wall was removed, seamlessly transforming the space into an open-plan kitchen and living room area.
• The extension’s ceiling was elevated to follow the roofline, enhancing the sense of space and openness.

4. Flooring and Finishes:

• The floors were elegantly finished with vinyl herringbone wood-effect flooring, adding warmth and character.
• A sleek and modern grey kitchen was installed, complete with appliances and a beautiful marble effect worktop.
• A geometric black and white tile splash-back in the kitchen provides a stylish and contemporary touch.
• An oak internal door with mirror glass enhances the interior and brings more natural light into the space.
• An anthracite grey vertical radiator was chosen to optimise wall space, providing efficient heating without sacrificing aesthetics.
• The old bathroom was completely renovated, resulting in a contemporary bathroom and shower. Stunning new tiling was also installed.
