Conservatory Roof Conversions
Have you got a conservatory that is cold in winter and too hot in summer? If so we can help by converting your conservatory roof to a warm roof, and you can reap many benefits.
Whatever conservatory roof style you have – Lean-to, Edwardian, Victorian, Gable End or Bespoke. We convert this to a warm roof using either the tried and tested Guardian system or a bespoke timber version. Regardless of which system is used, the process is very similar.
Externally
The first part of the process is to remove your existing roof. After removing the conservatory roof, we brick up any windows you wish to change and then attach the Guardian aluminium or bespoke timber roof structure to a new timber plate. Once in place, the roof is covered in a structural and weatherproof ply, followed by a waterproof membrane, the same as which is used on traditional roofs.
We then apply a lightweight Tapco tile available in 6 colours, made from recyclable virgin limestone and polypropylene. The tiles are virtually indistinguishable from real slate, are tough and resilient, and come with a 40-year guarantee. Finally, all necessary lead flashings, gullies, and rainwater goods are installed to completely watertight your warm roof.
Internally
Counter Batten TLX gold breathable insulation board is installed between the new roof rafters leaving an air gap. Another layer of insulation is installed across the entire area, and finally, the insulated plasterboard gives 125mm of insulation. The whole ceiling is then plastered.
We can install roof lights, bifold doors, concealed lighting, and full redecoration as part of the process. Once complete, your warm roof will be energy efficient, and your conservatory will be usable all year round, giving a completely new dimension to your home.
