Small Office Conversion
With all the changes that came along with Covid-19, many people are working part of their week from home. The kitchen table is no longer good enough and many homeowners are now looking for a more permanent office solution. This was the case for one of our clients in Long Buckby, Northampton. They had an unused brick building attached to the house and wanted to make better use of it by converting it. Although small, once a door opening was created into the main house, it would make the perfect space for an office conversion. The external doorway was half-closed up leaving enough space for a second window and a glass-panelled internal door was installed to give even more light to the office.
Insulation was added to all the walls and ceiling along with double glazed windows to keep the warmth in. After the plastering and painting, new electric sockets with USB ports (to charge phones etc) were fitted, along with oak skirting to match the new oak door. Finally, easy to clean vinyl flooring planks with a modern concrete finish were laid and the new office was ready to use!
